For me this was extraordinarily upsetting. I guess I saw Rod as my come-to-life Ken doll. I wanted him all for myself, and I wanted to protect him from going through all the degrading things I’d experienced as a bodybuilder. I didn’t want to have to think about Tanya in Tennessee fantasizing over naked pictures of the man I loved.

But this was something I already had to contend with because of Bob’s profession, although I’ll admit that since he hadn’t yet gone back to competing it was somewhat easier for me to deal with.

In retrospect, I should have been more understanding, because this was a time when Bob was feeling pretty insecure and vulnerable. He was between careers, and he thought that I was going to hit big, that I was going to dump him and run away.
